Dawtas, 2004-2021
The Dawtas sculpture series was created in 2004, with additional versions created in 2011, and 2021. They were presented in performance in 2021 at the Hyde Park Art Center for Dawtas: Mirror, Mirror. First created in 2004, these works have been exhibited at the Chicago Artists Coalition (Leaf by Leaf curated by Sabrina Greig, 2018), Recess Arts, NY (Be Black Baby, curated by Simone Leigh, 2011), The Museum of Americas, DC (New Possessions, curated by Sarah Clunis 2006), and at the Lab Gallery, NY (Parallel Practices with Roberto Visani, curated by Sarah Reisman 2005).
